With the August Bank Holiday fast approaching where better place to be if you are an enthusiast of classic cars than at the yearly Knebworth Classic Motor Show on 26 and 27th August. The event takes place at Knebworth Park not far from Stevenage in Hertfordshire that is a wonderful location with so much to do for all the family.
This event is very popular on the classic car show calendar. On the Sunday there will be numerous car clubs competing against each other for the club stand that is judged to be the best for portraying a “British Summers” theme- a cash prize will be awarded.
On the Monday the show becomes rather more serious when professional judges will cast their eyes over cars that arrive before 11 am who will enter the Concourse d’Elegance Competition. The prize is an exclusively designed award. At some point in the morning cars that belong to Letchworth Classic & Vintage Car club will make a cavalcade entrance.
This is a major classic car show that is now under the new management of Greenwood Exhibitions. Steve Smith who is their event director, stated: ‘We are ringing the changes and freshening up the whole event. There’s a better layout to the showground and a new commentator will be leading the entertainment throughout the day, including live Top Trumps in the arena.’
‘There’s also a children’s colouring competition to win Greenwood Exhibitions’ London to Brighton mascot ‘Bruno Bear’ and if children bring their own Teddy along they get a free goody bag. Autojumble and trade stands will be in attendance along with the K’Nex funfair, raising money on both days for Great Ormond Street hospital.’
There is even camping available at the venue on the Sunday night.
Knebworth Park is made up of 250 acres of delightful countryside being very close to the A1 motorway, Knebworth provides a wide range of things to do in addition to visiting the historic house.
