A car enthusiast is to spearhead the 4th charity car event on Sunday in support of Air Ambulance Week (September 24th – 30th).

The Air Ambulance, who receive no funding from the Government, do such wonderful work within the community saving many people’s lives each year due to their speed of response.

Mini's are popular classic cars and will be attending this eventThe 40-mile classic car trip will go through the 4 counties covered by Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance starting at the Cock Inn in Isfield in East Sussex finishing at the Spa Valley Railway at Eridge in Kent.

Taking part in the 40 mile journey through some delightful countryside will be an Alfa Romeo Spider, a Triumph Spitfire, a 1965 VW Campervan, a Jaguar MK II, classic minis and an Austin Maxi 1750 that is believed to be the oldest surviving model.

Richard Grant who is the organiser commented: “I run a Twitter page that provides traffic information called @travelnewsouth and it is a sad fact that we regularly provide updates of nasty accidents attended by Air Ambulances.”

Back in 2010, Richard and James Firth, his good friend, set off on a tour of numerous Air Ambulance helicopter bases throughout the UK.

In 2011, a rally was held in the Sussex countryside covering Shoreham Airport to the famous Lavender Line. Earlier this year, in March, they embarked on a journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats in a 15-year-old classic in aid of Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance.

Both drivers and motorcyclists are warmly invited to take part this Sunday paying a small registration fee of only £5 per vehicle. The event starts at the Cock Inn pub in Isfield at 10.30 am but you are recommended to get there earlier to enjoy bacon rolls and coffee to set you up for your journey.

Not only will you have fun at this event but you will also be supporting a worthy charity in need of funds.
