You may be aware purely by the number of MINIs that you see on our roads in the UK that it is currently a very popular car as it was many years ago. Not only do you see a significant number of newish MINIs but there are also quite a lot of classic ones around.

If you are a MINI enthusiast then you will no doubt be interested to read that Classic Car Auctions held an auction of vehicles on the 24th September 2022 that included a 1964 Morris Mini Cooper 1071 S (Mk 1) with an estimated sale price of between £28,000 to £32,000. Well, this rare, delightful and no doubt sought after vehicle ended up being sold for £52,875 – significantly higher than the estimated price.

Apparently, the original selling price of the car was £778.

The car has Almond Green bodywork with a roof in Old English White. It still retains its original interior. It had been in storage for around 30 years.

It has a mere 39,144 miles on the clock and interestingly has only done 113 miles since it was MOTd way back in October 1986. It has been owned by the same person since 1966 that is somewhat unusual these days.

Let us hope that the new owner enjoys this classic car and that it is soon being seen out on the open road. When it does it will no doubt attract the attention of many a passer by.
