On the 8th February Bonhams auction – Les Grandes Marques Du Monde Au Grand Palais took place in Paris. There were some interesting classic cars sold on the day.

For instance, a 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 3.0 litre Drophead Coupe was sold for £348,263 that was one of only 102 drophead coupes ever built. This classic car is left hand drive. It had enough room in the back for two children. If the rear seats were not being occupied it could be altered to allow for much more boot space. It had a 140bhp engine that was capable of achieving a top speed in the region of 120mph. In the past the car has been restored and has been well maintained.

A 1958 Jaguar XK150 “S” 3.4 Litre Roadster achieved a sale price of £194,617. It has been restored to concours condition. It has a 250bhp engine powering it from 0 to 60mph in a mere 7.3 seconds onward to a top speed of 136mph making it a very nippy vehicle. It must be said that this classic sports car looks fantastic and would catch the eye of many passers-by.

A wonderful looking 1937 Bugatti Type 57 Pillarless Sports Coupe went under the hammer for £261,197. It has a 3,257cc 8-cylinder engine producing 130bhp. This was a one off design built to a unique specification.

A 1934 Minerva Type AL 40CV Sports Coupe sold for £348,263. This particular classic car had never before been offered for public sale. It has a 6.6 litre engine producing 120 hp. Only 50 were built and it is believed that there are a mere 8 left in existence.

A 1925 Hispano Suiza H6B 32CV Coupe De Ville achieved a sale price of £297,048. It looks superb in black coachwork with leather front seats and cloth rear seats. It has an interior electric light, speaking tube and opera side lamps.

There were many other classic cars sold at the auction details of which can be found on Bonhams website.

Presumably, the new owners have arranged suitable classic car insurance.
