You may be interested to read that in 2023 there was a large rise in the number of used cars being sold in the UK in comparison to the previous year. This could be due to a number of factors but one reason is likely to be due to the difficult economic climate here in the UK. There are no doubt a large number of motorists who are just not in a position financially to buy a brand new car but are instead having to look for a quality second hand car perhaps in better condition than their existing car and with a lower mileage.

In 2023, there were 7,242,692 used cars sold compared to 6,890,777 in 2022. That was an increase of 5.1% according to figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

4. Ford Focus 223,417
5. Vauxhall Astra 160,736
