Many of you who own cars, including classic models, will no doubt have heard of Richard Hammond having been one of the presenters on the popular series known as Top Gear. Other well-known presenters on the show included the likes of James May and Jeremy Clarkson. Well, Richard Hammond is hoping to sell four classic cars next month.
The Iconic Sale At Race Retro 2026 – Collectors’ Cars auction is to take place on the 21st February 2026 at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
Richard Hammond is selling a 1979 Ford Escort RS2000 Mk2 with an estimated sale price of between £25,000 to £30,000. This classic car has been restored by The Smallest Cog and its bodywork is in a Ford Midnight Blue colour. It has a manual gearbox. It has appeared at a number of concours events. The restoration work included things like replacing a number of body panels, new brakes, new front suspension, a belt service and a new interior. This vehicle is likely to attract a great deal of attention.
A much older classic being offered for sale by Richard Hammond is a 1933 Riley 14/6 Alpine Tourer. It has an estimated sale price of £18,000 to £24,000. It is a six cylinder, sports tourer with four seats. This sounds like a fairly rare car as it is believed in the region of only 175 to 200 were manufactured. It has a manual gearbox. It comes with a spare wheel mounted on the rear. The aforementioned owner took it into his possession in 2019. It has had a service quite recently. This classic car is also likely to attract some attention.
For those of you classic car owners who like racing cars, why not cast your eyes over another of Richard Hammond’s collection – a 1972 MG B GT Race Car that has an estimated sale price of between £15,000 to £20,000. An interesting thing about this car is that it was the very last car driven by Richard Hammond on Top Gear. It too has been restored by The Smallest Cog. It has benefitted from being raced competitively from 2022 to 2025. It can be driven immediately by any new purchaser.
Richard Hammond is also offering for sale a 2006 MINI Cooper S (R53) DriveTribe with an estimated sale price of between £10,000 to £15,000. It comes with an 1,800cc engine producing a powerful 304bhp. It has a full Safety Devices roll-cage. The drivetrain has been uprated. This car is no doubt going to attract a huge amount of attention.
So, if you are a fan of Richard Hammond and fancy owning one of his classic car collection, why not get along to the above auction.
